Dehradun: The Dehradun district administration plans to install nine electric vehicle (EV) charging stations throughout the city in order to combat pollution and traffic congestion. The Dehradun Municipal Corporation (DMC) chose the locations for the nine EV charging stations following a poll, DM Savin Bansal informed the media.
9 EV charging stations to be built in Dehradun
Dehradun DM Savin Bansal said, “Zero investment will serve as the project’s foundation. Blue-chip businesses will be given a small plot of government land on which to install the infrastructure required for an EV charging station. The model for revenue sharing has not yet been determined.” According to DM Bansal, the district administration is working hard to get a fully functional EV charging station operational by the end of this fiscal year, even though the project might take two months to get going.
9 Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations
Nine electric vehicle (EV) charging stations will be installed by the district administration in Dehradun’s crowded locations, including Gandhi Park, the Rispana Bridge, Ghantaghar, and the vicinity of IT Park. These nine electric vehicle charging stations would significantly lessen the pollution in the nation’s capital, Dehradun, which is rising at an exponential rate. The people living in Doon will be urged to switch to electric vehicles once the necessary infrastructure is complete. Each station will require 45 to 50 minutes to fully charge two automobiles. The officials informed the reporters that these stations will also be accessible to four-wheelers on public transportation.
Broken street lights will be fixed
In the meantime, the district administration released the following information about other public concerns: “The district education department has been provided with gap funding of Rs 1 crore for schools, and Jal Sansthan has been given Rs 75 lakh for road repair patchwork that is necessary following ground work.” In order to eliminate the backlog of over 550 complaints, the DMC has taken over street light maintenance, while sanitation and hygiene are being rigorously monitored. For this, 35 teams have been organized, and each of them will receive 20 extra cars. By the next month, Gandhi Shatabdi Hospital’s new NICU should be up and running.
