OPG Mobility, a new entrant in India’s electric vehicle market, has unveiled its first electric scooter, the Defy 22. The launch marks the company’s debut in the competitive two-wheeler EV segment, which is rapidly gaining traction across the country.
The Defy 22 is designed to cater to urban commuters, offering a combination of style, performance, and sustainability. According to the company, the scooter features a lightweight design, an advanced lithium-ion battery, and a range of up to 120 kilometers on a single charge.
“Our vision is to make electric mobility accessible and reliable for everyone,” said an OPG Mobility spokesperson. “The Defy 22 is a testament to our commitment to innovation and sustainability, meeting the demands of modern consumers.”
Equipped with a digital dashboard, smart connectivity features, and a fast-charging system, the Defy 22 is positioned as an affordable and practical choice for eco-conscious buyers. OPG Mobility has also announced plans to set up charging stations across major cities to support its product.
India’s electric two-wheeler market has witnessed significant growth, driven by government incentives, rising fuel costs, and increasing environmental awareness. The introduction of the Defy 22 adds to the growing competition in the sector, currently dominated by established players and emerging startups.
OPG Mobility has confirmed that the Defy 22 will be available for purchase in select markets starting in the first quarter of 2025. Pricing details are expected to be announced closer to the launch.
