Volvo Trucks has reached a significant milestone by delivering over 5,000 battery-electric trucks to customers in 50 countries worldwide. This achievement underscores the company’s leadership in the electric heavy-duty vehicle sector and its commitment to sustainable transportation.

Since the introduction of its electric truck lineup in 2019, Volvo’s electric fleet has collectively covered nearly 170 million kilometers in commercial operations. These trucks have contributed to reducing CO₂ emissions and traffic noise levels while enhancing the working environment for drivers.

Volvo Trucks currently offers eight electric truck models, catering to various transport segments, including urban and regional distribution, construction, and waste management. The company’s top five markets for electric trucks are Germany, the Netherlands, the United States, Norway, and Sweden.

Roger Alm, President of Volvo Trucks, stated, “It’s rewarding to see that transport companies continue to embrace the benefits of electric trucks in a wide range of transport segments. Volvo’s battery-electric trucks are available here and now, providing our customers and transport buyers with a more sustainable alternative that makes business sense.”

The adoption of Volvo’s electric trucks reflects a growing demand for sustainable transport solutions. The company’s early entry into the electric truck segment has enabled it to build unique expertise in electric, zero-exhaust emission transport.

Volvo Trucks continues to invest in the development and deployment of electric vehicles, aiming to decarbonize its vehicle lineup by 2040. The company’s ongoing efforts reinforce its position as a global leader in the transition toward sustainable heavy-duty transport.
