EVident Battery, a Massachusetts-based startup specializing in electric vehicle (EV) battery diagnostics, has successfully raised $3.2 million in seed funding. The investment round was led by Ibex Investors, with participation from Nationwide Ventures, Automotive Ventures, Avesta Fund, and several angel investors.
The newly acquired funds will be utilized to accelerate the development of EVident’s rapid, non-destructive battery pack inspection technology. This innovative solution aims to provide comprehensive diagnostics of EV battery health within two minutes, addressing the challenges of detecting non-cell failures that can compromise battery longevity and performance.
EVident’s technology leverages artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to analyze structural and integration issues in EV batteries, including those caused by mechanical, thermal, electrical, chemical, and environmental stresses. By offering detailed assessments of battery health and estimated remaining lifespan, the solution seeks to reduce unnecessary battery replacements and enhance transparency in the EV market.
The company has also launched a pilot program to validate its inspection technology in real-world scenarios. This pilot aims to refine the AI models, scale deployment, and establish a centralized EV battery database for full transparency.
Founded in 2023, EVident Battery is led by CEO Dr. Jinqiang Ning, a former lead reliability engineer at Tesla. The company plans to expand its team with additional experts in engineering, manufacturing, and business development, further solidifying its position in the EV battery diagnostics sector.
