U POWER Tech, a leading smart electric vehicle (EV) technology company, unveiled its groundbreaking EV platforms at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in Las Vegas, signaling a significant step in its North American expansion strategy. The company introduced its UP Super Board, a versatile skateboard chassis, and the UP VAN, an all-electric urban logistics vehicle, to an audience of nearly 10,000 industry professionals.
The UP Super Board is designed as a plug-and-play platform, integrating core EV functions such as propulsion, suspension, steering, and thermal management. This modular approach allows automakers to expedite the development of customized EVs, reducing time-to-market by at least six months. The UP VAN, built on this chassis, offers a payload capacity exceeding 3,500 pounds, a cargo volume of up to 339 cubic feet, and a range of 171 miles on a single charge.
In a strategic move to penetrate the North American market, U POWER Tech announced a partnership with VIZEON, an electric vehicle distributor. This collaboration aims to introduce VIZEON-branded commercial vehicles, powered by U POWER’s technology, to the Mexican market. Paul Li, Founder and CEO of U POWER Tech, emphasized the significance of this partnership, noting the swift receipt of initial purchase deposits as a testament to the business model’s appeal.
U POWER Tech’s “GLOCAL” strategy—combining global supply chain integration with local manufacturing—has facilitated the delivery of UP Super Board chassis to U.S. customers. The company has also established partnerships with EV startups like Olympian Motors and LUMOS EV Inc., further solidifying its presence in the region. These collaborations aim to cater to diverse market needs, from urban logistics to passenger vehicles.
Beyond North America, U POWER Tech is expanding its footprint globally, with cooperation agreements in Japan, Southeast Asia, and Europe. The company’s technology integrates green and AI innovations, providing software and hardware support for autonomous driving algorithms. The UP VAN has garnered 140,000 orders worldwide, with deliveries scheduled to commence in the second half of the year.
Established in 2021 with dual headquarters in Shanghai and Silicon Valley, U POWER Tech has attracted investments from prominent funds, including ZhenFund, Matrix Partners, and Bosch’s BOYUAN Capital. The company’s innovative approach positions it at the forefront of the EV industry’s transition from the profit-less 1.0 era to the profit-maximizing 2.0 era, aiming to empower businesses globally to achieve comprehensive electrification transformations.
