The second generation, launched in 2006, expanded its appeal with increased cargo capacity and diverse body styles. The third generation, debuting in 2018, transformed the Sprinter into a connected mobile workspace, featuring the MBUX multimedia system and advanced telematics. The Charleston plant, established in 2006, plays a pivotal role in Mercedes-Benz’s North American operations. A significant expansion in 2018 enabled full part-by-part assembly, catering to regional demands.
