Molicel has announced the launch of its latest generation of high-power cylindrical battery cells, the INR-21700-P45B and INR-21700-M50-LT, specially engineered for e-bikes, e-motorcycles, and other light electric vehicles. These new cells aim to set benchmarks in energy density and safety for high-performance electric mobility applications.
The P45B cell delivers a robust continuous discharge rate of 45A and a nominal capacity of 4.5Ah, making it one of the most power-dense cylindrical cells available. It’s ideal for high-performance electric two–wheelers where both torque and range are critical, ensuring longer rides and improved acceleration.
In contrast, the M50-LT model is designed for cold-weather performance, with a 5.0Ah capacity and the ability to operate at temperatures as low as -20°C. This feature is especially useful for electric vehicle users in colder regions, where conventional batteries tend to underperform or degrade rapidly.
Molicel emphasized that both cells were engineered with a strong focus on cycle life, energy output, and thermal safety. The P45B and M50-LT are part of the company’s ongoing mission to provide dependable battery technologies for premium EV manufacturers globally, including the rapidly growing Indian e-mobility sector.
The company noted that these cells are already being evaluated by several top-tier EV and battery pack makers for integration into next-generation electric scooters, bikes, and compact mobility platforms. Molicel’s latest innovation supports faster charging, higher discharge rates, and longer battery life, enabling more efficient and durable EV systems.
With the launch of these advanced 21700-format cells, Molicel is expected to play a bigger role in driving innovation in the electric two-wheeler and micro-EV segments, offering powerful alternatives to traditional lithium-ion batteries.
