North American energy‑tech firm EVerge is joining forces with charging‑platform leader AMPECO to deploy over 5,000 electric vehicle charging stations across public and private networks over the next two years. The collaboration marks a significant stride toward scaling EV infrastructure at a rapid pace .

The initiative got its start in San Diego, where EVerge manages the city’s public charging network using AMPECO’s platform to centralize monitoring and operations. San Diego’s City Council has approved installation of roughly 4,000 charge points — 2,500 for public use and 1,500 for municipal fleets over a five‑year timeframe. This project now serves as the cornerstone for broader national expansion.

EVerge Chief Operating Officer Peter Ruzich said that AMPECO’s system empowers the company with instant outage visibility and remote diagnostics, enabling them to resolve most issues without dispatching technicians. “That efficiency boost means we can grow in step with market demand while ensuring a reliable charging experience,” he explained.

Platform reliability is a central focus of the partnership. AMPECO provides real-time alerts, diagnostics, and analytics that address up to 70–80% of technical issues remotely. The system also allows EVerge to treat charging locations as engagement hubs—offering things like free‑charging campaigns to boost usage and customer loyalty.

EVerge CEO Jefferson W. Smith described the alliance as a “turning point” in large‑scale EV charging strategy. He emphasized that coupling AMPECO’s robust software with proactive deployment tactics will eradicate the reliability gaps that can leave stations offline for weeks—damaging user trust and revenue. “It’s a leap forward not just for EVerge, but for the future of clean transportation across North America,” Smith said.

AMPECO’s Senior VP of Growth, Michael Greenberg, commented that the partnership “aligns perfectly” with AMPECO’s mission to deliver flexible, scalable charging‑management solutions. He noted that the platform’s hardware‑agnostic and white‑label design is helping charging networks flourish across 65 countries, supporting over 160 operators globally.
