Maruti Suzuki has officially announced the launch date for its much-awaited electric SUV, the e-Vitara, set to debut in India on September 3, 2025. Based on the concept eVX showcased earlier, the e-Vitara will mark the company’s entry into the all-electric passenger vehicle segment.

The electric SUV will be manufactured at Suzuki Motor Gujarat’s facility and is expected to be a global model with exports planned for several markets alongside its domestic launch. The vehicle will be the first product developed under Suzuki’s global EV strategy, aimed at strengthening its presence in the clean mobility space.

The e-Vitara is likely to offer a range of around 550 km on a full charge, positioning it as a strong contender in India’s midsize electric SUV market. Built on a born-electric skateboard platform, the SUV is expected to come equipped with advanced connectivity, ADAS features, and a spacious interior tailored for Indian consumers.

Maruti Suzuki has already begun road testing the model, with several test units spotted across the country. The company aims to appeal to both urban and semi-urban buyers looking for a reliable and cost-efficient electric SUV option. It will also help the automaker align with India’s EV targets and upcoming emission norms.

The e-Vitara is part of Maruti Suzuki’s broader plan to introduce six EVs in India by 2030. This includes models across various segments, as the brand works toward reducing carbon emissions and meeting future mobility needs through electrification.

With the official launch date now confirmed, expectations are high for Maruti Suzuki’s electric debut. The e-Vitara will likely play a pivotal role in reshaping the company’s portfolio and boosting EV adoption in India’s competitive SUV market.
