Vietnamese EV brand VinFast has introduced its premium electric SUV VF 7 at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, marking a significant milestone in its push into Southeast Asia and the Indian market.
The VF 7 slots into the competitive C‑segment electric SUV space, and rivals models such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and BYD Sealion 7. Featuring a bold and modern “Asymmetric Aerospace” design by Torino Design, the SUV carries sleek LED V‑motif lighting, hidden door handles, and aerodynamic contours to create a clean and futuristic profile.
Inside, the VF 7 presents a minimalist cabin with a floating infotainment touchscreen, D‑cut steering wheel, driver‑oriented cockpit feel, heads‑up display in place of a traditional instrument cluster, and a panoramic sunroof. The dual‑tone interior is accentuated with premium finishes and ample storage.
Under the hood, two variants are offered. The Eco version uses a single front electric motor producing around 201 PS and 310 Nm, promising a WLTP‑rated range of 450 km. The Plus variant features dual motors (AWD) delivering 354 PS and 500 Nm, with a range of 431 km. Both use a 75.3 kWh battery pack and support fast charging.
Versatility and safety are assured with standard features across both variants, including Level 2 ADAS, adaptive cruise, blind‑spot assist, automatic emergency braking, and 360° camera. Luxury touches include large infotainment screens (Eco gets 12.9″, Plus gets 15″), wireless charging, and up to eight airbags plus ESC.
VinFast has now opened pre‑bookings in India as of July 15, 2025, with pricing expected to be unveiled in August. Delivery is anticipated soon after. The move is backed by plans for local assembly at its Thoothukudi plant in Tamil Nadu, an initial $500-million investment scalable to 150,000 units annually, underlining VinFast’s long-term commitment to the Indian EV ecosystem.
