The national “ISGF Innovation Award 2023” was given to the MSEDCL (Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited) for establishing charging station facilities.
Prasad Reshme, director of projects for MSEDCL, was presented with this honor on Friday during a ceremony held in New Delhi. The “ISGF Innovation Award” has been presented by the India Smart Grid Forum (ISGF) institute since 2017. Companies that work in the electricity, water, air, and electric vehicle sectors are recognized with this award.
The MSEDCL has taken the initiative to develop a web portal, and a mobile app, install charging stations, create infrastructure for electric vehicle charging stations, and fix special tariff rates for electric vehicles.
For owners of electric vehicles, the MSEDCL has set up its own charging stations and created the “Power App” app. Customers can find the closest charging station, self-charge their cars, and make payments using the app. Finding out information about public and private charging stations using this app is helpful. The app is accessible in Marathi and English.
Till now, 2,500 private and MSEDCL charging stations have been featured on this application. Earlier, this project received the Atmanirbhar Bharat SKOCH 2022 Summit Award.
