As the year draws to a close, automakers are hard at work getting ready to unveil a lineup of 2024 models, and Tata Motors has put together an intriguing lineup. With the recent improvements to the Nexon, Harrier, and Safari, 2024 appears more promising for the automaker as it gets ready to debut several electric vehicles.
Tata Harrier/Safari EVs
In the Indian market, the Tata Harrier and Safafri have enjoyed some success, and they are very similar in terms of platform, engine, and other aspects. Nevertheless, only ICE versions are available for them; however, the automaker plans to introduce electric SUVs in response to the popularity of its EV range.
The Tata Harrier EV debuted at the Auto Expo earlier this year, and it shares similarities with the Nexon in that it may be available with two battery packs and all-wheel drive. Though there are now few details available, more should become available in the next few days.
Tata Punch EV
Tata’s entry-level offerings, the Tiago and Tigor are available in electric versions, and so is Tata’s best-seller, the Nexon. However, the carmaker’s second-best-seller, the Punch is available with an internal combustion engine only, and to cater to a wider customer base, an electric version is what’s needed.
Tata will launch an all-electric version of the Punch this year, as it faces immense competition from the Hyundai Exter. The Tata Punch EV will most probably have the same battery pack as the Tigor, offering a range of around 300km on a full charge.
The Tata Curvv
The carmaker’s ambitious project, the Tata Curvv concept, was unveiled last year. Tata now intends to introduce the production version of the Curvv, while some of its designs have found their way into the Nexon, Harrier, and Safari.
The brand-new Tata Curvv has been sighted testing multiple times, and based on the reports, it will be offered in both ICE and electric variants, just like the Nexon. It is anticipated that the Curvv would enter manufacturing in April 2024 and launch in June of that same year.
