In a landmark milestone for Vietnam’s automotive sector, VinFast has become the first domestic automaker to surpass 100,000 vehicle sales within just the first three quarters of a year. The feat solidifies its reign as Vietnam’s best-selling car brand for 11 straight months and underscores a rapid shift toward electric mobility nationwide.

In September 2025, VinFast delivered 13,914 electric vehicles, bringing its year-to-date total to 103,884 units — a record cumulative figure never before seen in Vietnam’s auto history. This performance highlights both surging EV demand and VinFast’s ability to scale production across its model range.

Driving this momentum is the VF 3, often referred to as Vietnam’s “national electric car.” It recorded 31,386 sales in the first nine months (with 2,682 units in September alone). Close behind is VF 5, with 30,956 units sold (3,847 in September), while its fleet version Hero Green sold 8,604 units (2,173 last month).

Other strong performers include the VF 6, tallying 14,425 units (1,933 in September) and carrying a robust backlog of orders, and VF 7, with 5,877 total sales (778 units in September). Meanwhile, VinFast’s Limo Green MPV, designed for ride-hailing and premium transport, delivered 2,120 units in September, topping its niche segment.

Looking ahead, VinFast is ramping up operations across its Hai Phong and Ha Tinh plants, preparing for a strong close to 2025. With Q4 traditionally the peak period for auto sales, the company aims to push well beyond current benchmarks by year’s end.

Speaking on the landmark results, Duong Thi Thu Trang, Global Deputy CEO of Sales & Marketing at VinFast, said: “Behind the figure of more than 100,000 vehicles are millions of acts of trust … We remain committed to delivering ever greater value … accelerating Vietnam’s green transition.”

VinFast’s achievement marks a turning point in Vietnam’s automotive narrative: local brand beating global players in both ICE and EV segments, and the nation showing its mettle as a serious upcoming EV hub in Asia.
