Noon Energy has partnered with Meta to deploy up to 1GW / 100GWh of ultra-long-duration energy storage aimed at supporting growing AI infrastructure needs. This collaboration reflects the increasing demand for reliable and continuous power as data centers expand globally.

The partnership will start with a 25MW / 2.5GWh pilot project, expected to be operational by 2028. Based on its success, both companies plan to scale the project significantly under a long-term agreement.

Meta is focusing on strengthening its AI infrastructure while ensuring a stable and sustainable energy supply. As AI workloads increase, the need for uninterrupted clean energy solutions is becoming critical for data center operations.

Noon Energy’s technology offers more than 100 hours of energy storage, making it a strong alternative to conventional lithium-ion batteries that typically provide only short-duration backup. This makes it ideal for long-duration energy storage applications.

The system is based on a reversible solid oxide fuel cell technology, which stores energy in chemical form and converts it back into electricity when required. This enables high efficiency and scalability for large-scale deployment.

This partnership marks a major step toward advancing clean energy solutions for AI-driven infrastructure. It also highlights the growing importance of long-duration energy storage in ensuring reliable and sustainable power for future digital ecosystems.
