Enrich Energy has secured a major 290 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project from NTPC for its Simhadri plant in Andhra Pradesh. The project marks a significant achievement for the company as it strengthens its position in India’s fast-growing energy storage sector. This development also highlights the increasing role of battery storage in supporting the country’s clean energy goals.

The project was awarded under NTPC’s competitive bidding process for standalone battery energy storage systems. Enrich Energy emerged as the selected company for the Simhadri site, showcasing its technical expertise and growing capabilities in advanced energy solutions. Winning this contract is expected to boost the company’s presence in the utility-scale storage market.

Under the agreement, Enrich Energy will be responsible for the design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the complete BESS facility. The scope of work also includes advanced Battery Management Systems (BMS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), power conversion systems, switchgear, fire protection systems, and monitoring infrastructure. These technologies will ensure safe operations, efficient performance, and long-term reliability of the storage project.
