BMW Brilliance Automotive (BBA) has achieved a major manufacturing milestone with the production of its seven millionth vehicle at the Shenyang Production Base in China. The achievement highlights the company’s strong growth in the Chinese automotive market and reinforces its position as a key manufacturing hub for BMW Group globally.
The seven millionth vehicle produced was a BMW 3 Series Horse Edition, which rolled off the assembly line at the Shenyang facility. Since the start of local production in 2003, BMW Brilliance has steadily expanded its manufacturing operations, contributing significantly to BMW’s development and success in China.
Raymond Wittmann, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Production, said the milestone reflects the strength of BMW’s long-term commitment to China. He noted that the company has continuously invested in advanced manufacturing technologies and localized production capabilities to meet evolving customer demands.
BMW also confirmed that local production of its next-generation Neue Klasse models will begin in China later this year. The Neue Klasse platform is expected to play a central role in the company’s future product strategy, featuring advancements in electrification, digitalization, and intelligent mobility technologies.
Birgit Boehm, President and CEO of BMW Brilliance Automotive, stated that the seven-million-unit achievement reflects the trust of Chinese customers and the dedication of the company’s workforce. She added that BMW Brilliance has built a highly efficient and future-ready manufacturing ecosystem in Shenyang through continuous innovation and collaboration.
Looking ahead, BMW Brilliance plans to further strengthen its localized operations and accelerate the adoption of intelligent manufacturing technologies. As the company enters the Neue Klasse era, it aims to support China’s transition toward sustainable mobility while delivering innovative premium vehicles to customers across the market.
