Nissan has officially launched its new “From China” export strategy with the global debut of the all-new Navara Pro Plug-in Hybrid pickup and Primera EV sedan at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS). The move marks a significant step in the automakers efforts to strengthen China’s role as a hub for innovation, vehicle development and international exports. According to the company, the initiative is aimed at improving global competitiveness while accelerating the rollout of electrified vehicles.
Leading the showcase was the all-new Navara Pro Plug-in Hybrid, a model designed to combine Nissan’s traditional pickup capabilities with electrified performance. The vehicle features a bold design and is targeted at customers looking for a versatile solution for both commercial use and everyday lifestyle needs. With the launch of the Navara Pro PHEV, Nissan is expanding its electrification strategy into the pickup truck segment, one of the fastest-growing categories in several global markets.
Alongside the pickup, Nissan also unveiled the Primera EV, a fully electric sedan developed to offer a blend of advanced technology, connectivity and premium comfort. The model features a sleek exterior design and a modern cabin focused on delivering an enhanced digital experience. The Primera EV reflects Nissan’s commitment to expanding its electric vehicle portfolio and addressing growing demand for intelligent and sustainable mobility solutions.
Nissan stated that detailed technical specifications and performance figures for both vehicles will be announced closer to their respective market launch dates. However, the company emphasized that the two new models represent a key part of its broader strategy to accelerate electrification and bring China-developed products to international customers through a dedicated export program.
Commenting on the development, Guillaume Cartier, Chief Performance Officer at Nissan, said that China plays a dual role for the company as both a major automotive market and a source of global competitiveness. He noted that the unveiling marks the beginning of Nissan’s “From China” export strategy and demonstrates the company’s ability to develop competitive products capable of meeting diverse customer requirements across different regions.
In addition to the Navara Pro Plug-in Hybrid and Primera EV, Nissan also showcased the latest Kicks e-POWER and X-Trail e-POWER models in the Philippines. The presentation highlighted the company’s growing focus on electrified mobility and reinforced its commitment to expanding the global reach of vehicles developed and manufactured in China for international markets.
