BAIC FOTON showcased its latest new energy commercial vehicles and intelligent mobility technologies at IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026 in Hannover, Germany. The company presented seven complete vehicles and six independently developed core components covering long-haul logistics, urban distribution, sanitation and public transportation. The display focused on electric powertrains, intelligent driving systems, smart cockpit technologies and advanced charging solutions.

A key highlight of the event was the global debut of the CAVAN BEACON, a zero-carbon intelligent heavy-duty truck developed on a dedicated platform. The platform supports battery-electric, battery-swapping, gaseous hydrogen and liquid hydrogen technologies and can accommodate up to 15 vehicle variants. Its battery-electric version offers a stated range of more than 600 km, while the hydrogen fuel-cell version can exceed 1,000 km, depending on configuration and operating conditions.

The CAVAN BEACON also features an 800V electrical system and megawatt-level charging technology. BAIC FOTON states that its charging system can charge the battery from 20% to 80% in approximately 18 minutes under specified conditions. The truck incorporates intelligent driver-assistance technology with 22 functions, supported by an integrated sensing and vehicle-control system designed for long-haul applications.

Alongside the CAVAN BEACON, BAIC FOTON displayed the GALAXUS R9 PHEV, eGALAXUS D3, DAYSTAR, CAVAN C1, TUNLAND V9 PHEV and eAURORA. The portfolio covers different commercial transport requirements and includes battery-electric, plug-in hybrid and hydrogen technology pathways. The company also showcased heavy-duty power batteries, vehicle control units, electric drive axles and megawatt charging equipment as part of its six core component exhibits.

BAIC FOTON also highlighted its progress in international markets during IAA 2026. The company marked the delivery of its 13 millionth vehicle, a GALAXUS 9 that completed real-world testing in Spain. BAIC FOTON said its business now reaches more than 140 countries and regions. The company has also outlined 2030 targets under which new energy vehicles are planned to account for 50% of total sales, while international markets are targeted to contribute 40%.

For its European expansion, BAIC FOTON is following an “In Europe, For Europe” approach focused on adapting products and services to regional regulations, road conditions and customer requirements. The company plans to strengthen its European sales and service network, establish a European technology centre and begin local vehicle assembly by 2028, subject to required approvals and implementation conditions. Through its new energy vehicle portfolio and in-house technologies, BAIC FOTON is expanding its commercial vehicle offerings for the evolving global transport market.
