Statiq, GLIDA, and Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam have inaugurated the first of 20 public electric vehicle (EV) charging stations planned across the Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam area. The launch marks the beginning of a wider rollout of EV charging infrastructure across the city.
The initiative is being implemented under a public-private partnership (PPP) model. Under the arrangement, Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam is providing the land, while private partners will develop and operate the charging facilities. The initiative is focused on expanding public EV charging infrastructure in Ghaziabad.
The first phase will comprise 100 public charging points across 20 locations. Charging services will be offered at a nominal cost. The network is intended to improve charging access for residents, daily commuters, and visitors while supporting Ghaziabad’s growing electric mobility ecosystem.
The inauguration was attended by Sunita Dayal, Mayor, Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam; Vikramaditya Singh Malik, IAS, Municipal Commissioner, Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam; Deepak Paliwal, CEO, GLIDA; and Akshay Ahuja, AVP – Business, Statiq, along with councillors and senior civic officials.
Deepak Paliwal, CEO of GLIDA, said coordination among public institutions, infrastructure providers, and mobility stakeholders would be important for expanding EV charging infrastructure. He also noted that GLIDA is already operating more than 1,000 charging points across India.
The partners said the first station marks the beginning of the planned rollout across Ghaziabad. The network is intended to make public EV charging more accessible and support the city’s transition towards electric mobility. Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam is developing 100 charging points across 20 locations in the first phase, with the facilities being made available for public use at a nominal cost.
