Similar to Skoda’s efforts on a new sub-four meter SUV for the Indian market, the Czech brand is also developing an entry-level SUV named the Epiq for the global market. We’ve recently had our first glimpse of it. While currently in concept form, production is slated for 2025, ensuring a relatively short wait.
Although still in its conceptual phase, the Skoda Epiq appears quite poised for production, exuding a futuristic aura. This is attributed to the brand’s fresh design approach dubbed “Modern Solid,” emphasizing minimalism. At the front, notable features include a refined grille, updated Skoda lettering, and a robust front bumper accompanied by T-shaped LED DRLs. Along the sides, the SUV showcases distinct character lines, stylish wheels, and sturdy cladding, ensuring a striking presence. Completing the exterior design are sleek T-shaped tail lamps and a robust bumper.
The Skoda Epiq marks the debut of the Modern Solid theme in Skoda’s production lineup, extending its minimalist approach to the interior as well. The cabin features a clean design with ample illumination, drawing attention particularly to the contrast between the compact digital driver’s display and the expansive touchscreen infotainment system. Despite the abundance of digital interfaces, physical controls are also present. In terms of space, the Epiq offers ample room with its 4.1-meter length and a generous boot capacity of 490 liters.
Information regarding the vehicle’s specifications remains limited, except for its electric nature. However, Skoda has disclosed an estimated range of over 400 km on a single charge. Additionally, the SUV will feature bidirectional charging capabilities.
Although Skoda’s upcoming electric SUV won’t be arriving in India in the near future, we do have a sub-four meter SUV slated for a 2025 release. Nevertheless, Skoda aims to commence its electric journey in the country with the Enyaq later this year.
