With a joint mission to transform the global EV industry, Ecozen and Volektra are promoting plug-and-play motors that do not require a magnet for environmentally friendly mobility.

Recently, German EV tech company Volektra and Indian sustainable technology developer Ecozen announced an investment partnership. This project seeks to combine Volektra’s magnet-free motor technology (SEEM) for electric vehicles with Ecozen’s motors, controls, IoT, and analytics. It is partnered with investors such as Thinkuvate and Growth factory.

Under the cooperation, Ecozen’s controllers will improve Vollkits from Volektra, turning conventional micro-vehicles into electric powerhouses.

According to the company, these plug-and-play devices—which, with over 20,000 three-wheelers and e-bikes, have proven successful in Europe—will produce affordable, environmentally friendly transportation.

Furthermore, Volektra’s SEEM technology promises an environmentally benign and high-performing substitute for existing EV motors that use rare earth magnets.

“Our magnet-free motor technology (SEEM) eliminates the need to use rare earth minerals, which enables better control while contributing to a cleaner environment,” said Manish Seth, founder and CEO of Volektra, in response to the cooperation.

Ecozen CEO and co-founder Devendra Gupta called this investment a “game-changer,” saying that by doing away with the need for rare-earth magnets, the company is not only increasing efficiency but also spearheading the transition to a more environmentally friendly form of transportation.

Ecozen Solutions, a Pune-based company, offers deep tech climate-smart solutions for business and environmental benefits, such as IoT, energy storage, and motor controls.

With its headquarters located in Munich, Germany, Volektra creates conversion kits and modular electric drivetrains that make it simple to convert existing cars into effective electric vehicles.
