Amazon India said on August 12 that it has established a deliberate collaboration with electric mobility firm Gentari for its EV deployment programme as it aims at a caravan of 10,000 electric vehicles for last-mile shipment by 2025.
As per the agreement, Amazon India stated that Gentari Green Mobility Business will supply delivery service partners (DSPs) with comprehensive fleet management services to guarantee the smooth operation and maintenance of the EV fleet, in addition to Gentari Green Mobility Business acquiring and deploying electric vehicles for the company within the next three years.
It further stated that more electric three-wheelers will be available for delivery by Delivery Service Providers (DSPs) through the agreement for Amazon deliveries.
“Our goal is to enable our delivery service providers with the appropriate electric cars, complete life cycle management services, and parking and charging infrastructure,” stated Abhinav Singh, Vice President of Operations at Amazon India.
The company installed more than 7,200 EVs in India at the end of 2023, and it holds on well on way to attain its aim of installing 10,000 EVs in the domestic market by 2025, he said.
Amazon India has services across 400 cities in the country.
Nikhil Thomas, CEO of Gentari Green Mobility India, stated, “I am confident this collaboration will pave the way for a cleaner and electric future for India’s transportation sector as we work together to deploy more EVs and contribute to India’s net zero targets.”
Personalized value-added services, EV subscriptions through Vehicle-as-a-Service (VaaS), and a vast network of EV charging stations are just a few of the many services that Gentari Green Mobility India provides.
