In the coming year, 50 electric buses will be installed, according to LeafyBus’ declaration. With intents to finally extend into Eastern and Southern India, the new fleet is anticipated to run on a number of paths all over Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab.
JBM Electric Vehicles (P) Ltd. and LeafyBus have teamed to facilitate this expansion. JBM will sell 200 LeafyBus electric buses overall as per this agreement. Fifty buses will be launched in the first year of the first phase, and the remaining 150 buses in the next year. These cars were reportedly developed in response to India’s increasing demand for better transit options.
According to reports, LeafyBus’s new electric buses come equipped with a variety of measures meant to increase passenger safety and comfort. These include real-time tracking, CCTV monitoring, and having a “Bus buddy” on board to assist passengers.
The company states that in compliance with safety rules, all buses will have Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). LeafyBus also promises to maintain stringent interior cleanliness standards in order to ensure passenger comfort.
LeafyBus offers what they call a hassle-free travel experience for all customer segments, claiming to address the whole consumer journey. Larger battery sizes for long-distance driving and high-speed chargers modeled after global best practices are reportedly features of the new buses. According to the company, maintenance support will be offered in all over North India.
