Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), in collaboration with the Kuppam Area Development Authority (KADA) is set to launch 300 cargo electric bicycles in Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh. This lead is a part of the Sustainable Transport for Rural Entrepreneurs (STREE) project, goals to boost micro-mobility and help local entrepreneurship in the area.
The collaboration was formalized with a signing ceremony. Dr. Srikanth Kancharla and MLC, Kuppam were present in the ceremony. By giving them access to an effective and sustainable form of transportation, the e-bicycles will empower female students, Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs), and women in self-help groups (SHGs).
The STREE project aims to encourage environmentally sustainable modes of transportation. It helps to improve rural areas’ access to the economy. This initiative promotes environmental sustainability and the growth of local businesses by making movement and resource access easier.
