Ford introduced the “Ford Power Promise,” a new initiative designed to make home charging easier and provide EV drivers with better support. The senior hybrid systems engineer at Ford talked about how the current generation of electric car customers is hoping for a similar degree of comfort and assurance, while also expressing nostalgia for the days of full-service gas stations. This is especially crucial as, in a recent Ford survey conducted by Mercury Analytics, almost 90% of American consumers said they would be more inclined to buy an electric vehicle (EV) if they knew they could charge them at home.
Easy Charging at Home
Ford’s pledge to simplify home charger installation is at the core of their Power Promise. A complimentary home charger is now included with the purchase of an F-150 Lightning, E-Transit, or Mustang Mach-E. In most installations, this charger can be delivered and installed at no cost. This solution solves a significant issue for many potential EV buyers: the uncertainty surrounding the pricing and installation of home chargers.
Creating Confidence
Ford’s Power Promise guarantees a faultless on-the-road charging experience in addition to home charging. Ford EVs can now automatically locate chargers and add stations along their route thanks to the BlueOval Charge Network’s integration with Electrify America and Tesla Superchargers.
Power Source and Comfort Support
Ford further exhibited its commitment to battery quality by offering an eight-year/100,000-mile high-voltage battery guarantee on all of its electric vehicles. Furthermore, in the event that a vehicle’s range is insufficient, the Power Promise provides free roadside assistance in addition to enhanced 24/7 customer support.
