Uber and ENSO, an Earthshot Prize contender, have launched a groundbreaking partnership to provide low-emission, energy-efficient electric vehicle (EV) tires across the United States and the United Kingdom. Uber’s commitment to electrification and eco-friendly transportation solutions will be bolstered by this cooperative agreement, while ENSO’s state-of-the-art tire technology will expand in availability.
The ceremonial launch of the cooperation took place in London, the worldwide epicenter of Uber’s electrification. Uber has made a £145 million contribution to its Clean Air Fund in order to assist its drivers in making the transition to electric vehicles, and nearly 30% of the company’s miles driven in the city are now totally electric.
Under the terms of this three-year contract, ENSO and Uber will create a dedicated Buyer’s Club that will provide thousands of drivers in both nations with access to deeply discounted ENSO tires. These high-performance tires complement Uber’s larger environmental objectives by extending the range of electric vehicles and lowering tire emissions.
The London-based tire technology company ENSO plans to build a $500 million carbon-neutral tire manufacturing in the United States that will likely begin operations by 2027. By creating around 600 new employment and producing more than five million EV tires annually, the factory will help the company reach a wider worldwide market.
