Launched in 2014, Formula E is an all-electric racing series with the goal of advancing environmentally friendly motorsport mobility. The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) oversees it, and its single-seater electric cars race on global urban circuits. The competition provides a forum for the development and testing of electric vehicle technologies, such as improvements in power management, battery efficiency, and electric powertrain systems, by automakers and IT companies.
Formula E promotes city-based electrification while showcasing electric motorsport to a wide audience through races conducted in major cities like Berlin, Rome, and New York. One of the series’ distinctive features is “Fan Boost,” which lets viewers vote for drivers to be given more power in the race. By promoting innovation in electric mobility solutions through high-profile professional racing, Formula E aims to increase public awareness of electric vehicles and support the development of sustainable transportation.
