Ather Energy has achieved a major milestone with its family electric scooter, the Rizta, crossing 1 lakh in retail sales. The company celebrated this achievement just two months after the model’s official launch at the Ather Community Day in April 2024.
The Rizta, designed as a family-focused EV, has played a crucial role in expanding Ather’s consumer base beyond its traditional performance-oriented audience. Its practicality, spacious design, and competitive pricing have made it a preferred choice among urban commuters and families alike.
In a statement, Ather Energy’s Chief Business Officer, Ravneet Phokela, highlighted the Rizta’s strong market response. He emphasized that this milestone reflects growing trust in electric mobility and validates Ather’s strategy to address broader consumer segments with purpose-built products.
The Rizta comes in multiple variants, including S and Z trims, and offers a certified range of up to 160 km on a single charge. Its smart connectivity features, large seat, and robust build have contributed to its popularity across metro and tier-2 cities.
To support the growing demand, Ather has also been expanding its retail footprint and fast-charging infrastructure. The company aims to further strengthen its presence in semi-urban and rural markets, where interest in EVs is steadily rising due to lower running costs and government incentives.
As Ather continues to innovate and scale production, the success of the Rizta marks a significant step in mainstream EV adoption. It not only underscores Ather’s growth trajectory but also signals a broader shift in India’s two-wheeler market toward electric mobility.
