Audi is expanding its A5 lineup by introducing two new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models, enhancing the vehicle’s power, efficiency, and flexibility. The new models, now available alongside traditional combustion engine versions, promise significant improvements in both electric range and regenerative braking technology.
The A5 series now includes the “e-hybrid” technology, which emphasizes its electric capabilities. Available in the A5 Avant e-hybrid quattro and A5 Sedan e-hybrid quattro variants, these models offer two power levels—220 kW and 270 kW—paired with a 2.0 TFSI engine and an electric motor for a combined output of up to 105 kW.
Audi’s latest high-voltage battery technology provides a 45% increase in capacity, offering an electric-only range of up to 110 kilometers. This improvement marks a leap forward in making Audi’s plug-in hybrids even more practical for daily use and long-distance driving.
