The world’s first coach-built electric hypercar, the new Battista Targamerica, was launched by Automobili Pininfarina. It was authorized by a famous auto collector and Battista owner. This distinctive Battista Targamerica is the brand’s first coach-built car that was authorized by a user and made its premiere at ‘The Quail’, a motorsports event held during Monterey Car Week.
The Battista Targamerica was commissioned during the 2023 Monterey Car Week and will be delivered to the client at the 2024 event, exactly one year later. The term “Targamerica” refers not just to the country where the car would be manufactured, but also to the design of its roofless body. According to Pininfarina, this one-of-a-kind electric hypercar is built in accordance with the owner’s exact tailored specifications.
The 1986 Ferrari Testarossa Spider, another Pininfarina creation, served as an inspiration for the unique Targamerica, which is unique in that it is the first Battista to have an open-top Targa body style. Due to this, the rear quarter has had to be completely redesigned to accommodate the back luggage opening and the roofless profile.
The Targamerica has a silver finish, with black and blue accents running along the base. One intriguing feature is the hand-painted Icona Blue pinstripes across the entire width of the bottom of the rear wing. It also acquires bespoke ceramic-polished five-spoke alloy wheels with different black aluminium centre caps, bespoke door plates, and a brushed and anodised jewellery pack.
In association with Pininfarina SpA, the artisans at Cambiano have created the Targamerica by hand. According to Dave Amantea, chief design officer of Automobili Pininfarina, Battista Targamerica will forever stand as a one-of-a-kind and will never be repeated.
On the inside, the Targamerica presents a tan leather upholstery with contrast black leather on the steering wheel and console. It also has custom headrests with the Pininfarina “F” emblem engraved on them, as well as owner-specific décor and design elements.
A cigar container and humidor built into the cabin between the two seats is one standout feature. This glass and aluminum case, which can accommodate up to three cigars, is lighted and colored to match the colors of the Battista’s five drive modes. The car also proceeds with a bespoke luggage set concluded in the same tan leather as the upholstery and fringed with the Targamerica silhouette.
The Targamerica’s mechanics are the same as those of the standard hypercar. It has a four-motor setup, one for each wheel, producing 1,900 horsepower and 2,340 Nm of torque. A 120kWh battery pack that has a 180kW maximum charging speed powers the motors. According to Pininfarina, the Targamerica Battista has a top speed of over 300 kph and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in less than two seconds.
