Battery X Metals Inc., through its subsidiary Battery X Rebalancing Technologies Inc., has announced a significant expansion of its lithium-ion battery rebalancing capabilities, now including support for the Nissan Leaf. As the second most common out-of-warranty electric vehicle (EV) in the United States, the Nissan Leaf represents a substantial segment of aging EVs in need of affordable and effective battery solutions. This development aligns with the company’s mission to support battery longevity and cost-effective EV ownership.

The company’s recent milestone includes the unveiling of Prototype 2.0, its second-generation rebalancing machine. This advanced system features diagnostic tools, patent-pending cell balancing technology, integrated connectivity, and a compact, field-ready design. These enhancements underscore Battery X’s growing role in next-generation battery technology and its commitment to extending the lifespan of EV batteries.

To refine its rebalancing technology for the Nissan Leaf, Battery X Rebalancing Technologies is collaborating with Vancouver-based Factor E Motors, an EV service center specializing in out-of-warranty Tesla vehicles. This partnership builds on a non-commercial agreement announced earlier this month, under which the companies are jointly developing and testing rebalancing solutions for Tesla Model 3 and Model X battery packs.

The rebalancing technology developed by Battery X has been validated by the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), confirming its ability to correct cell imbalances and recover nearly all lost battery capacity. In one key test, rebalancing restored capacity from 46.24Ah to near the original 71.10Ah on intentionally imbalanced battery modules, demonstrating the system’s effectiveness in extending battery life.

Battery X’s initiative aims to make electric vehicle ownership more sustainable and affordable by reducing battery replacement costs and extending functional lifespans. With the Nissan Leaf now integrated into its rebalancing platform, the company is preparing to expand its capabilities to other high-volume EV models entering the out-of-warranty phase, ensuring long-term support for EV owners amid the global energy transition.

As the global EV market continues to grow, Battery X’s advancements in battery rebalancing technology position the company at the forefront of sustainable solutions for aging electric vehicles. By addressing the challenges of battery degradation and replacement costs, Battery X is contributing to the broader goal of promoting a more sustainable and cost-effective future for electric mobility.
