Battery X Metals, an energy transition resource and technology company, is set to host an exclusive live investor reveal event on May 30, 2025, at Factor E Motors Ltd. in Vancouver. The event will showcase Prototype 2.0, the company’s second-generation, patent-pending lithium-ion battery rebalancing machine developed by its wholly owned subsidiary, Battery X Rebalancing Technologies Inc.
Prototype 2.0 represents a significant advancement in battery maintenance technology, aiming to extend the lifespan of lithium-ion batteries and revolutionize electric vehicle (EV) maintenance. The live event will feature preliminary real-world results from rebalancing trials conducted on a Nissan Leaf battery pack, marking a major milestone in Battery X’s mission to enhance battery longevity.
The rebalancing technology targets aging EV batteries, particularly those nearing or at the end of their manufacturer warranties. Battery X has expanded development to support compatibility with high-volume EV platforms, including the Nissan Leaf—the second most common out-of-warranty EV in the U.S.—and Tesla Model 3 and X. The company is collaborating with Factor E Motors, a specialist in out-of-warranty Tesla repairs, to validate the technology across diverse EV battery configurations.
Prototype 2.0 incorporates advanced diagnostics and next-generation rebalancing technology within a compact and efficient design. The system is designed to assess the maximum available capacity of EV battery cells, enabling the repurposing of used cells into second-life battery applications. According to validation by the National Research Council of Canada, the technology has demonstrated the ability to recover 99.4% of lost capacity in test batteries.
Battery X Rebalancing Technologies plans to conduct rigorous testing to validate optimal performance and compatibility across various EV battery makes and models. The goal is to deliver a commercial-ready unit by the fourth quarter of 2025. Further iterations may be necessary based on in-situ testing outcomes.
The unveiling of Prototype 2.0 signifies a transformative step toward more sustainable electric mobility solutions. By extending battery life and reducing the need for costly replacements, Battery X aims to support the long-term growth of the EV industry and meet the growing demand for battery rebalancing and lifespan extension.
