Belrise Industries, a leading Indian auto components manufacturer, has announced a strategic partnership with a Chinese electric mobility company to establish a new EV hub motor manufacturing unit in India. The collaboration aims to strengthen domestic EV supply chains and reduce dependence on imports.

The new facility will focus on producing hub motors—a key component in electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers. The plant is expected to significantly boost local manufacturing capabilities and cater to India’s rapidly growing EV demand.

Belrise officials stated that the partnership brings together advanced Chinese motor technology and India’s manufacturing scale. “This joint venture will enhance our product portfolio and help meet the evolving needs of the Indian EV market,” a company spokesperson said.

The manufacturing unit will be set up in Maharashtra, with production slated to begin later this year. The plant is designed to support both domestic and export markets, with an estimated capacity to produce several hundred thousand units annually.

This move aligns with India’s Make in India initiative and the government’s focus on promoting EV adoption through local production. The collaboration is expected to generate employment and encourage the development of a robust EV component ecosystem in the region.

As the Indian electric mobility sector expands, partnerships like this are seen as crucial in bridging technology gaps and achieving long-term sustainability. Belrise’s entry into EV hub motor manufacturing marks another step toward building a self-reliant and globally competitive EV industry.
