With hints of its first electric car, which will be introduced in 2026, Bentley has teased its audience. The British company has revealed that an SUV will be its first all electric vehicle. The “world’s first real Luxury Urban SUV” is how Bentley refers to its first electric vehicle. With the introduction of the new EV SUV, Bentley will enter a new PEV or BEV era, introducing one car annually for the ensuing ten years. By 2035, Bentley plans to switch completely to electric cars.
“Four years almost to the day that Bentley first outlined its Beyond100 strategy, we adapt to today’s economic, market, and legislative environment to initiate a major transformative phase for tomorrow,” said Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, Chairman and CEO of Bentley Motors, despite the fact that Bentley has not yet disclosed any technical specifications. As we broaden our goals beyond 2030 while staying dedicated to a low-carbon future, including delivering fully electric vehicles by 2035 and reaffirming our credentials as the British manufacturer of exceptional automobiles for more than a century and beyond, Beyond100+ becomes our compass,” the Financial Express stated.
In July of this year, the hand-built 12-cylinder engine was phased out at Bentley’s UK headquarters in Crewe. The W12 engine was last found in the Bentayga, Continental GT, and Flying Spur. More than 100,000 W12s have been produced since the engine’s 2003 debut in the Continental GT.
