BMW is set to electrify Summer 2025 with a comprehensive upgrade across its electric and combustion-powered fleet. The refreshed lineup boasts advanced electric drive systems, improved digital features, expanded customization options, and broader standard equipment, reinforcing BMW’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.
BMW i4 Series: Enhanced Efficiency and Performance
Leading the charge is the BMW i4 series, which now incorporates silicon carbide semiconductor power electronics. This advancement delivers up to 4.5% more efficiency and extends the range by 22 km, depending on the variant. The i4 eDrive35 achieves 428 km on a single charge, while the i4 eDrive40 reaches 510 km under the WLTP cycle. A new addition, the BMW i4 M60 xDrive, offers an impressive 601 hp and accelerates from 0–100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds.
Digital Innovations: Smarter and More Connected
BMW is expanding its Digital Key feature across nearly all model series, enabling keyless access and multiple user profiles via smartphones. A new Setup Card allows for seamless activation through the My BMW App, and a Service Card provides flexible backup for service needs. Up to 18 devices can be linked, with role-based restrictions—ideal for sharing vehicles with new drivers.
BMW iX Facelift: Power, Design, and Efficiency Upgrades
The flagship electric SUV, BMW iX, receives a facelift featuring subtle yet significant changes in design, interior, and performance. The new iX will hit the roads in spring 2025, manufactured at BMW’s Dingolfing plant in Germany. The iX 45 now boasts 402 horsepower and a WLTP certified range of up to 602 km. The iX 60 offers 536 hp and a range of up to 701 km, while the high-performance iX M70 delivers 659 hp with a range of 600 km.
Design and Interior Enhancements
The iX facelift introduces a new grille design with horizontally opposed diagonal lines and optional Iconic Glow Illumination. The front bumper has been redesigned with larger air dams and slimmer vertical air intakes, contributing to an enhanced aerodynamic profile. Inside, the steering wheel adopts a more traditional round three-spoke design. BMW’s M Multi-Function seats, standard on the iX M70 and available for other variants, offer better lumbar support, enhanced backrest width, and active ventilation.
Commitment to Sustainability and Innovation
BMW’s Summer 2025 lineup reflects the brand’s dedication to sustainability and cutting-edge technology. With significant investments in electric vehicle technology, including advancements in battery technology and the development of the new “Energy Master” control module and “Neue Klasse” all-electric architecture, BMW aims to lead the EV market and reduce CO₂ emissions by 40% by 2030.
