The Chinese EV company BYD has finally expanded its product line with the debut of the Sealion 7, a brand-new, high-end electric SUV, in India. Despite having a distinct cabin arrangement, the Sealion 7 and the BYD Seal sedan share some design aspects, as the name suggests. BYD offers the Sealion 7 in two primary trim levels: Performance and Premium. Between Rs 48.90 lakh and Rs 54.90 lakh is the price range.
The Sealion 7’s grille is similar to that of the BYD Seal sedan, and its LED headlights and DRLs give it a sleek, aerodynamic look. The vehicle’s athletic look is enhanced by the aggressively designed bumper and the sharp lines and creases on the bonnet. It features flush-type door handles in profile (19-inch on the Premium model) and 20-inch alloy wheels. Additional BYD Seal inspirations are highlighted by the LED tail lights that are affixed to the back.
The Seal’s interior is all black, and its 4-spoke steering wheel and gloss black dashboard give it an opulent look. The seats, steering wheel, and armrest are all covered in black leatherette.
A 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a 15.6-inch rotating infotainment touchscreen, ventilated front seats, motorized sunshades, a panoramic glass roof, and multicolored ambient lighting are all features of the Sealion 7. Included are a 12-speaker Dynaudio sound system, a motorized tailboard, a 6-way electrically adjustable co-driver’s seat, an 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat with a 4-way adjustable lumbar support and memory function, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) features.
Passenger safety is enhanced by eleven airbags, a 360-degree camera, a tire pressure monitoring system, rain-sensing wipers, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, and level-2 ADAS.
