Ceigall India has clinched a major renewable energy contract after being awarded a ₹1,700 crore solar photovoltaic (PV) project integrated with advanced Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) at the Morena Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh. The Letter of Award (LoA) was issued on 9 February 2026 by Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL), marking one of the company’s largest wins in the clean energy sector to date.
Under the project terms, Ceigall India will develop Unit-1 with 220 MW capacity as part of the broader 440 MW solar-plus-storage initiative. In a tariff-based competitive bidding process, the company quoted ₹2.70 per kilowatt-hour (kWh), emerging as the lowest bidder (L1) among participants and securing the significant portion of the overall project.
The project’s scope includes the establishment of grid-connected, ground-mounted solar power generation combined with an energy storage facility designed to enhance grid reliability and dispatchable power supply. Construction is slated to be completed within 24 months, following which the plant is expected to operate for 25 years, reinforcing long-term energy commitments.
Officials from Ceigall India highlighted the strategic importance of this project in advancing India’s clean energy goals. With solar generation paired with modern storage solutions, the project is expected to support consistent renewable output, helping balance intermittent supply and contributing to the state’s and nation’s carbon reduction targets.
This win further strengthens Ceigall India’s presence in the renewable energy infrastructure space, adding to its diversified portfolio that spans infrastructure development across sectors. The company’s successful bid and upcoming execution underscore its growing capabilities in large-scale solar and battery storage delivery.
Industry analysts say the Morena Solar Park project represents a milestone in solar-plus-storage auctions in India, setting a competitive tariff benchmark and encouraging broader adoption of battery integrated renewable energy systems across the country.
