For its delivery partners to easily transition to electric mobility, Chargeup, a FineTech platform in the electric vehicle industry, has partnered with Zomato. Zomato will be able to lower the carbon footprint of its extensive delivery network across India thanks to this ESG initiative.
According to the company, because last-mile food delivery workers travel several kilometres each day, the emissions from their scooters and bikes significantly increase the mobility footprint in urban areas. This is the area where the partnership hopes to effect change.
Along with lowering emissions, switching to electric two-wheelers will give drivers access to a vast network of battery-swapping stations and increase their uptime, which will increase their income. The advantages of the new partnership will eventually spread to more Zomato delivery partners as Chargeup now has battery-swapping stations in Tier-I and Tier-II cities.
