Citroen India, a member of the Stellantis group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kamarajar Port. The made-in-India C3 B-hatch vehicles will begin to be exported to nations in the ASEAN and Africa region by PAIPL, Citroen India’s Indian affiliate. Starting in March 2023, the vehicle will be exported as CBUs.
“This partnership with Kamarajar Port fortifies the Stellantis group’s ‘India for the World’ philosophy, which will leverage India’s unique manufacturing export potential,” said Roland Bouchara, CEO & MD, Stellantis India. We began exporting powertrains from our Hosur facility in 2019, and this year, with the start of the new C3 exports as a CBU, we are marking an important turning point in our India journey. We have built a 360-degree ecosystem that is yielding excellent results for the company, and we intend to keep expanding it.
As part of its internationalization strategy, Citroen needs to export vehicles from India, and Kamarajar Port satisfies all of those requirements, according to Guy Lederer, Head of Supply Chain & Logistics for India, Asia Pacific, at Stellantis. To achieve the highest level of on-time delivery at competitive prices, we anticipate a productive and cooperative working relationship with KPL.
“We are pleased to enter into an agreement with PCA Automobiles to offer our Port services for the export of Citroen brand vehicles to countries in ASEAN and Africa,” said Sunil Paliwal, I.A.S., CMD, Kamarajar Port. Partnering with PCA Automobiles will enable us to expand our export business. The success of this partnership will help India’s economy, we hope.
