Cummins India Limited today launched its Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), a key element of the company’s “Destination Zero” strategy aimed at accelerating India’s clean‑energy transition.
The newly launched BESS solutions are tailored for industries such as manufacturing, data centres, commercial real estate and mining. The systems enable seamless integration of solar and wind power with the grid, while offering cost benefits such as peak-shaving and energy shifting.
Shveta Arya, Managing Director of Cummins India, emphasised the timing of the offering: “India’s energy landscape is undergoing a transformative shift… Our BESS offering provides a scalable, reliable and sustainable energy platform that aligns with the country’s net‑zero goals for 2070”.
Pankaj Kapoor, Vice President of Distribution Business at Cummins India, underlined the commercial appeal of the units. He noted that the BESS products cater to rising demand for dependable power and sustainable energy management, supported by Cummins’s expanding service and support infrastructure.
The introduction of these systems marks a step forward in reinforcing India’s power infrastructure, particularly in ensuring stability as renewable penetration grows. Cummins positions its BESS as a tool to enhance grid resilience and operational efficiency .
