A “e-vehicle parade” at Rajghat is scheduled by Delhi’s environment department for early October in an effort to encourage the use and purchase of electric vehicles (EVs) in the city. The event organizers anticipate about 500 electric vehicles (EVs) taking part. Owners who are interested will soon receive a link for registration.
According to a senior source in the department, the environment department has released a tender for the event, with an estimated cost of around Rs 5.76 lakh. The deadline for submitting bids is September 30. Five days following the award of the tender are when the parade is supposed to happen.
“The main goal is to increase knowledge of the advantages of EVs and to encourage their use in Delhi. As many EV owners as possible are encouraged to participate in the march, an official stated.
“Transitioning to electric vehicles will contribute to reducing vehicular pollution in the capital,” the official noted.
Going forward, Gopal Rai, the Environment Minister, who was reinstated with the formation of a new cabinet, has stated that the government’s first focus will be addressing air pollution.
