At a new plant in Przylesie, Poland, the Eberspaecher Group has begun manufacturing thermal management systems for electric city buses and coaches. Every year, about 20,000 systems will be manufactured.
“With the increasing demand for electric buses, we need to expand our capacity for bus air conditioning systems,” said Jorg Steins, CEO of Eberspaecher Group. The Bus and Coach Business Unit has been producing in Poland for the last seven years. In addition to the manufacturing lines that were transferred from the Olawa production facility, top international manufacturers have begun serial production of a new thermal management system for electric city buses and coaches. “We are well-positioned for present and future e-mobility orders, as we have about 30% more capacity than the previous site,” Steins stated.
Along with the production lines that were relocated from Olawa, two more are being built. Here, Eberspaecher will start producing the AC138 EVOthermal management system in January 2025.
Oliver Wels states, “Our high-tech and market-defining top product for electromobility is the AC138 EVO with its patented reversal of the air circuit.” The heat pump is a remarkable option for hybrid and electric buses due to its high energy efficiency and little system complexity. Eberspaecher is introducing a system that uses the climate-friendly CO₂ and R744 refrigerants.
