South Korean electric vehicle manufacturer Edison Motors met with Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, and expressed their desire to invest there, according to an official.
A government spokesperson told PTI that the delegation, which was led by Managing Director Y K Lee, met with the chief minister at his official residence and expressed their desire to establish an electric vehicle plant in Uttar Pradesh.
Lee reportedly stated that they intended to invest Rs 500 crore to Rs 700 crore in the first phase, Rs 1,000 crore to Rs 1,500 crore in the second phase, and Rs 2,000 crore to Rs 3,000 crore in the third phase of their electric vehicle plant, which would result in the creation of thousands of new jobs.
Recently, In line with the commitment towards building a robust electric mobility ecosystem, BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) and EV Motors India Pvt. Ltd. (EVM) have partnered to set-up smart charging stations. As part of this endeavour, the first smart public charging station under this partnership was inaugurated at Patparganj by Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia in the presence of senior officials of BYPL and EV Motors.
