Jidu plans to use ChatGPT-like technology in its electric and self-driving vehicles. Jidu, which has the financial support of Baidu and Geely, is utilizing in-car technology and the Apollo system from Baidu. This year, the startup hopes to deliver its first vehicle. Jidu intends to use Apollo with Baidu’s ChatGPT-like Ernie bot product.
The integrated technology will enhance users’ interaction with the vehicle. Voice control is typically present in so-called smart cars, including Jidu’s proposed model.
Prior to making its Ernie bot available to the public, Baidu stated last week that it anticipated finishing internal testing of the bot in March. How the product’s capabilities compare to ChatGPT, which is created by Microsoft-backed OpenAI, is still unknown. Its first physical store will be opened in Beijing.
