Vinayak Bhat was recently promoted to Chief Product Officer (CPO) by Bengaluru-based EV startup Ultraviolette Automotive.
Ultraviolette has made a calculated strategic move in an effort to bolster its position in both home and foreign markets and diversify its line of products.
As a valuable asset to the firm’s quest of innovation and market leadership, Vinayak Bhat has been with the company since 2017. He has a plethora of knowledge in both aerospace and electric mobility.
Vinayak Bhat’s position and duties
As CPO, Bhat will be in charge of the whole Ultraviolette product lifecycle, from the early stages of concept and design to the launch of the product onto the market.
Among his duties will be diversifying the company’s offerings, with an emphasis on vertical integration including vital parts like battery technology, drivetrains, and vehicle architecture. Bhat wants to raise the bar for the industry and solidify Ultraviolette’s standing as the world’s premier producer of high-performance electric cars.
“I have seen Ultraviolette’s steadfast dedication to innovation. Through our vertical integration strategy, I hope to create outstanding products for international markets, particularly in areas like battery technology, drivetrain, and vehicle architecture. Our goal is to upend conventions and establish Ultraviolette as a pioneer in electric transportation on a worldwide scale, according to Bhat.
Bhat’s previous position
Vinayak Bhat was Principal Engineer and Technical Director of Ultraviolette prior to being promoted.
He was instrumental in the creation of important projects during his time there, such as the F77 Mach 2 and the F99 Racing Platform. He was tasked with organizing several facets of engineering, operations, manufacturing, and product development.
Because of his vast engineering experience, especially in the aerospace sector, Vinayak Bhat has a distinct viewpoint that he applies to his work at Ultraviolette.
In 2013, he started working at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) as a structural engineer, where he learned a lot about intricate engineering projects.
Subsequently, Bhat worked as a design analyst at Safran Engineering, where he focused on crucial pieces like landing gears and fuselage sections and contributed to large projects for industry heavyweights like Airbus and Boeing.
“Vinayak’s deep understanding of aerospace and electric vehicle technologies provides him with a unique perspective that will be critical in driving our culture of innovation,” stated Narayan Subramaniam, CEO & Co-Founder of Ultraviolette, in reference to Vinayak’s new post. His guidance was crucial to the F77 and F77 Mach 2—our flagship products—launching successfully. With Vinayak taking on the role of CPO, I have no doubt that we will push the boundaries of innovation and market penetration.
