General Motors (GM) and EVgo Inc., one of the nation’s leading public fast charging networks, have announced an expansion of their partnership to install 400 fast charging stalls at prominent locations in major American cities. In order to fulfill the increasing demand for electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, this is a major step forward.
The purpose of the new flagship stations is to provide EV drivers with a more streamlined, dependable, and comfortable charging experience. Modern 350kW fast chargers, plenty of lighting, security cameras, and pull-through stations are also planned. These stations, which typically have up to 20 slots available and some with even more, are anticipated to become indispensable EV charging locations. A number of carefully chosen sites in highly populated areas such as Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, New York, and Texas will offer drivers access to nearby dining options, retail stores, and coffee shops in addition to other amenities to enjoy during charging.
According to Dennis Kish, President of EVgo, “EV charging is larger stall count locations, high-power charging, and designing around features that customers love – such as pull-through access, canopies, and convenient amenities.” “The EV charging future is here with this next evolution of EVgo and GM’s prestigious collaboration.”
2025 is when the first flagship location is expected to open. Because of their modular design, which allows for possible enlargement and the use of prefabricated components, the stations may be built more quickly. The flagship stations will be co-branded by EVgo and GM Energy as part of their continued effort to lead the sector in customer-focused charging solutions.
