Collaboration with Veera Vahana Boosts Electric Bus Fleet
Exponent’s push into the EV market is strengthened by its partnership with Veera Vahana, an established bus manufacturer. The collaboration, announced in August 2024, focuses on enhancing intercity electric buses with rapid charging capabilities. This move is expected to significantly reduce downtime for electric buses, addressing a key challenge faced by the EV industry and advancing the shift to electric public transport in India.
Proprietary Technology Ensures Faster, Reliable Charging
Founded in 2020 by Arun Vinayak and Sanjay Balyal, Exponent Energy has developed a proprietary ecosystem that includes the e^pack battery pack, e^pump charging station, and e^plug connector. The system enables a rapid 15-minute charge, with a 3000-cycle warranty that exceeds industry standards for durability and performance. These innovations are a vital part of Exponent’s strategy to provide fast, efficient, and reliable charging solutions for EVs.
Expansion and Growing Impact Across India
Exponent’s technology is already having a significant impact on India’s EV landscape. The company has expanded operations across five major cities: Delhi NCR, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and Hyderabad. With over 1700 EVs powered and more than 350,000 charging sessions completed, Exponent is proving its ability to scale quickly to meet the increasing demand for EV infrastructure in the country.
Strong Funding and Future Growth
Exponent Energy has attracted substantial investment from top venture capital firms, including Lightspeed and Eight Roads Ventures, raising $44.6 million in funding to date. With this backing, the company is poised for continued growth and innovation. As India moves toward widespread adoption of electric vehicles, Exponent’s leadership in charging infrastructure will play a critical role in the country’s transition to sustainable mobility.
