Deftpower has been chosen by Fisker to build its public EV charging platform in Europe. Owners of Fisker Ocean vehicles now have access to more than 425,000 public charging stations across Europe. Through this partnership, Fisker owners in Europe will have simple access to nearby public EV charging stations, quick vehicle charging, and a straightforward payment process. There are two ways for Fisker Ocean owners in Europe to connect to the Deftpower charging network. First, by utilizing the as-yet-unreleased Fisker Flex Charge app. Second, using the 17.1-inch display of the Fisker Ocean in-car navigation system.
This is good news for European customers who buy a Fisker Ocean because it expands the options for public charging. It’s an addition to the collaboration with the Allego network, which has more than 30,000 public chargers, that was announced last year. If a Fisker Ocean customer takes delivery before March 31, 2024, Allego will provide them with a year of free charging. After customers activate the subscription package in the Fisker Flex app, the free Allego recharge period starts.
In order to provide Fisker Ocean owners in North America with a seamless charging experience, Fisker and ChargePoint partnered last month. Owners of the Fisker Ocean will have access to ChargePoint’s vast network, which includes 80% of North America’s public EV charging stations, as a result of that agreement. It will be accessible via the ChargePoint mobile app and the navigation system of the electric SUV. More than 80% of public charging stations in North America are covered by this network. Will Fisker, like Allego in Europe, provide customers in North America with free charging, though? Customers have a lot of questions, and this is just one of them.
