India’s electric two-wheeler market is set to expand with the introduction of five new electric scooters from leading manufacturers, aiming to cater to diverse consumer needs and preferences.
Yamaha RY01: A Collaborative Effort
Yamaha is preparing to launch the RY01, an electric scooter developed in collaboration with Bengaluru-based startup River. Slated for production between July and September 2025, the RY01 is expected to feature a 4 kWh battery pack, offering a range of approximately 100 km on a single charge. The scooter will be manufactured at River’s facility in Bengaluru and is anticipated to be priced around ₹1.50 lakh.
Hero Vida VX2: Affordable Urban Mobility
Hero MotoCorp electric subsidiary, Vida, is set to launch the VX2 on July 1, 2025. Positioned as a budget-friendly model, the VX2 is expected to be priced between ₹70,000 and ₹1.05 lakh. The scooter aims to offer an accessible electric mobility solution for urban commuters.
TVS Jupiter Electric: Entry-Level E-Scooter
TVS Motor Company is developing an electric version of its popular Jupiter scooter, targeting the entry-level segment. While specific details are yet to be disclosed, the Jupiter Electric is expected to be priced under ₹1 lakh, offering a cost-effective option for consumers seeking electric mobility solutions.
Suzuki e-Access: Embracing Electric Mobility
Suzuki Motorcycle India has commenced production of the e-Access, its first electric scooter, at its Gurgaon manufacturing facility. The e-Access features a 3.07 kWh battery, providing a range of approximately 95 km and a top speed of 71 km/h. The scooter is expected to launch by the end of June 2025, with an anticipated price of around ₹1.10 lakh.
Ultraviolette Tesseract: High-Performance Electric Scooter
Ultraviolette Automotive is set to launch the Tesseract, a high-performance electric scooter, in October 2025. Equipped with a 3.5 kWh battery, the Tesseract boasts a range of 167 km and a top speed of 125 km/h. The scooter features advanced technology, including front and rear dashcams, blind spot detection, and wireless phone charging, with an expected price of around ₹1.20 lakh.
