In order to boost attainability and sustenance for fleet consumers, General Motors (GM) has declared a planned step to merge its BrightDrop electric commercial vans into the Chevrolet brand. The transformation will empower BrightDrop EVs to gain from Chevrolet’s extensive commercial vehicle sales and service network. It will extend the influence of GM’s electric vehicle (EV) technology across North America.

During the 2021 Consumer Electronics Show, BrightDrop made its debut. It will now function under the Chevrolet brand, providing consumers with cutting-edge safety features and a combined city/highway range of 272 miles, according to GM’s assessment. The step targets to benefit from Chevrolet’s stable market presence and vast dealership matrix, empowering fleet operators to enhance their service and delivery operations while diminishing emissions.

Scott Bell, vice president of Chevrolet, expressed confidence in the move, saying,“We are fusing cutting-edge EV technology with the dependability and broad accessibility that only Chevrolet can provide with the launch of BrightDrop into the Chevrolet portfolio. This action bolsters our EV portfolio and confirms our position as a top commercial brand that helps companies of all sizes complete their tasks.”

BrightDrop vans will be sold and serviced by certified Chevrolet dealers, increasing commercial fleets’ uptime considerably. Additionally, the association helps GM Envolve, the company’s fleet division that provides customized fleet solutions to government and commercial clients.

GM’s integration of BrightDrop into Chevrolet’s EV portfolio signifies a commitment to expand its electric fleet solutions for a wide spectrum of commercial customers, as the company pursues its vision of an emissions-free future.
